Rice to Meet You

The ambiance was charming, the service was attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. Each dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors, and the presentation was impeccable. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food provided. I left Rice to Meet You feeling satisfied and eager to return. Definitely a gem in the world of Asian cuisine! HOWEVER, keep in mind that it is a very small place, so when you go in it might be full. I recommend to make a reservation in advance!

When we saw a claypot rice restaurant, we were excited to try it. The crispy rice at the bottom is our favorite part. We arrived around 7 and were seated at the remaining table. You know a place is good when all the tables are taken. We ordered a beef brisket noodle and claypot rice with roast pork and vegetables. The beef brisket was super tender and flavorful. I loved the noodles as well, they were cooked just right with a chewy texture. It was just a bit too salty for my taste though but overall, great tasting. The claypot rice came with an abundance of roast pork which was amazing. A few more vegetables would have been good. The rice at the bottom was crispy and chewy at the same time. Staff are super friendly and service was very fast. Overall, great place to eat and highly recommend if you want authentic Cantonese style food.

We started off with the popcorn chicken and the was great. Pieces were solid and juicy. It was missing some of the fried basil. They gave us one leaf of fried basil. That's when it went down hill. I ordered the pork belly and spare ribs. It was the absolute worst meal I've had. Not only did they include Chinese sausage which wasn't in the description of the food, they gave me more Chinese sausage to try and compensate for the lack of pork belly. The pork was extremely dry. Imagine you bought pork belly and decided to leave it in the fridge for 5 days and then microwaved it to eat leftovers. The spare ribs were flavorless along with the clay pot rice. The other dishes we tried were the rolled noodles with brisket and one with combination. It was a solid dish but nothing special. Flavor is really similar to a flat rice beef noodle dish you would get at most restaurants. Surprisingly the meats in this dish were tastier. I'm not sure what they served to me in that Clay pot rice but it's enough to deter me from coming here again.

This place is a must go when you're in Houston! Everything we ordered was delicious! I didn't have one favorite dish since all went over my expectation! Server was very fast and surprisingly my food came out faster than I expect. I ordered and went to the store across to get something quick and right when I got to the store my party told me the food arrived! There were lots of table and fits big groups without a problem. The name of the restaurant is really unique and easy to remember! Lots of nice little words/quotes around.

First I ordered #31. It was absolutely yummie!!!! The meat was tender and I asked for extra spice—on point!!!! The restaurant is snug but they make it worth the wait. Now let me touch this tactfully. The waitress was a little short with me throughout my dining however comma when I left my tip she was very very welcoming at that point. So, why not be nice to whoever walks through the door from the beginning to the end of service? I emphasize the food was great!

Crispy rice! The clay pot make a delicious crispy rice. We got the cured pork and chicken and mushroom combo and we chose the ginseng chicken soup. We also got a sizzling beef brisket clay pot noodle. Cured pork comes with Chinese sausage. I preferred the mushroom chicken which used shitake mushrooms. The ginseng chicken soup uses black chicken meat which is traditionally considered to be healing/nutritious, so don't be alarmed by the color that's just how those chickens naturally are. It's cool that they use traditional ingredients! The sizzling beef noodle was also very tasty, the noodles are super chewy. Overall both dishes tasted like they were soy-based but other dishes may have a different flavor profile. Would come again, the combos are nice since you get to try more flavors at a fair price.
